About the book:
‘A seriously funny writer and the wittiest musician since Ronnie Scott … We’re lucky Gilad Atzmon is around.’ Robert Wyatt
'
Catch 22 meets Only Fools and Horses ... 'dark humour' isn't nearly strong enough to describe the distorted world that Atzmon portrays and mercilessly satirises.' Jazz Review
About the music:
"A formidable improvisational array...a local jazz giant steadily drawing himself up to his full height...a blast of fresh air in the UK" The Guardian
"Atzmon is an astonishing musician with a seemingly effortless ability to demolish and rebuild any old tune he chooses to play."-Time Out
My One and Only Love (Saqi books), is a scathingly comic take on Zionist politics and Israeli espionage. The story is told in the form of a dirty ‘show biz’ story, a sexy tale of an Israeli trumpeter who only plays one note but very successfully.
The Orient House Ensemble is: Gilad Atzmon, alto, soprano and clarinet, Frank Harrison piano, Yaron Stavi, double bass, Asaf Sirkis drums, Romano Viazzani accordion, Dumitru Ovidu Fratila violin and Guillermo Rozenthuler vocals
Peace
Gilad
